Sky Burger is an Apple iPhone / iPod exclusive game, created and released by Nimblebit on the Apple iTunes store. The aim of the game is to, essentially, make a burger that towers to the sky, ergo the name of the game: Sky Burger. The player moves a burger patty either by flicking the device left to right or alternatively, using the touch screen to move the patty across, while catching the correct ingredients to the burger (which are shown before each level and during each level at the top of the screen) to complete the level and get the high score.
The appeal is the fast-paced action that the game delivers to the players, with the difficulty curve rising slowly as the player progresses through each stage, gaining points (in the form of money) and going up ranks (Assistant Manager, et cetera) to upgrade your Sky Burger restaurant (which is seen in the background) to be the biggest in the game’s fictional world, even if the game itself has no story. No story, however, is to be expected, as most iPhone / iPod Touch apps are meant for quick play to pass time, not exactly to enthrall oneself into an alternate world, especially one where it’s basically work.
The game doesn’t really get that frustrating, outside of getting the wrong ingredient from your recipe (which simply takes down the combo that builds up with each correct ingredient, which requires no real ordering) and the fact that the hitboxes for each ingredient is a tad larger than the actual graphic for the ingredient itself. From what playing the game can portray, there are no graphical glitches or errors asides from the major gripe of the hitbox of the ingredient graphic being larger than said graphic.
Costing absolutely nothing on the iTunes store, I recommend Sky Burger to those who need to find a break from actually making burgers and making fictional ones, and those who have a quick hand and want a challenge in agility and persistence.
